Sarawak WholeSale Town

The Sarawak Wholesale Town is new concept. This is where all the wholesalers meet.

Although the concept has never been done before here, but it’s very common in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and China. I am very confident that it will catch up here, especially amongst local players in the light industrial sector.
“Think of it: why should there be a need for a warehouse when a wholesaler could easily sell products almost immediately from the factory? This is the concept we are trying to bring in here. Plus, with direct ‘factory-to-store’ sales concept, pricing of products would be much less than those in retail stores, since the concept omit the logistics from the process. “This, by itself, would be a ‘pull-factor’ to draw in customers,” he explained.
Located at a 50-acre of land at Demak Laut Industrial Park, the 100-per cent built-up area would be developed to house 420 commercial and industrial units, including 54 three-storey shophouses.
“Apart from these shophouses, the project would also consist of two- and three-storey terraced industrial lots that could easily be accommodated into a ‘factory-sales store’ combo units suitable for light industries. Price per unit would be from RM350,000 onwards,” said Tay.
He added further that at a mere six minutes from Penview Hotel, the project would be easily accessible to-and-from many major commercial and industrial areas, port and shipyards as well as to key points like schools, residential areas and community centres.
On investment, Tay revealed that the overall development cost of the project amounted to about RM100 million.
“We have already initiated the construction stage. Though we haven’t come up with a name yet for the project, we plan to do a launching in another two months’ time. We expect the project to complete within the next three years
